"Doofus"
I feel like this word should be spelled, "Dufuss" or "Doofuss" - I don't know exactly why. I think it's because it would imply that this person is making an unecessary fuss out of things. Or as Andrew might say, making a mountain out of clay.

I think I disagree. Here's why. I like the spelling as is because it's so very silly and ridiculous. Having a word that contains "doo" is just nonsensical, and adding on "fus" makes the word even better. And since that largely relates to what a doofus is, I am, therefore, pleased.
