The Loneliest Generation

Hello. May I tell you a long, complicated story using multiple hyperlinks to illustrate my points?

Thank you.

So, one time, a girl mentioned this band on her blog.

Their name is Harper Blynn. Here is their myspace music page.

They just released their first album in May, and despite the horrifically creepy album artwork, it is GREAT music.

Watch them perform LIVE in Brooklyn:

Jen, I like to think that you were there, watching :)

See? Do you SEE how good they are? Even live.

Maybe it's because the lead singer/guitarist looks like Dr. Jack Hodgins from Bones -

or maybe it's because the accordion player looks like Daniel Faraday from LOST -

but their charm overwhelms me.

You can also see their very first MUSIC VIDEO (released just this morning!) here

What do you think? Do you LIKE them?

The definition of jealously.

Have you ever wanted a piece of clothing so badly that you actually ACHE for it??

Righteous + Spoof = Ri-choof!

I'm sure everyone that goes to BYU who reads this blog (and probably many others) have already seen this, as it was VIRAL yesterday on facebook, but I thought I'd share it here.

You are all familiar with the Old Spice commercials that are so ingenious. I feel comfortable using this blanket statement because the only people that HAVEN'T seen them are from outer space, and I don't have any friends from outer space.

So.

This is a BYU parody of those old spice commercials, promoting the Harold B. Lee Library on BYU campus (or the HBLL, because we mormons like to abbreviate/acronymate the heck out of everything)

PLEASE enjoy.

I'd like to find this person and....

marry him :)

Obsessive

Okay, so we all know about my sleep/sheet issues - and many of you responded, sharing your own little habits, which comforted me immensely. Lately, though, I've been getting even WEIRDER with my sleepy time needs. Maybe it's because it's summertime in Utah and therefore unbelievably hot.... but I'm not sure.

ANYWAY.

Lately I've been very dependent on some good ol' fashioned white noise. My choice? A fan. And because I'm a big believer in aromatherapy (false - I'm just trying to make it so I don't sound so dang weird!) I put some B&BW wild honeysuckle room oil on a cotton ball, and stick it into the front of my fan, and then all night long I can sniff softly and be slowly soothed into a sweet sleep (I tried really hard, there).

I've also been getting pickier about what I will and won't wear to sleep. Flannel pajamas are, of course, simply out of the question... but lately... wearing pants or shorts at ALL seems like some sort of punishment.

So what are some more of your rituals? Have you evolved over the years? Or even over the summer?

Half Way

One year ago today, my friend Jordan...

left to go on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is serving in Santo Domingo - the capital city of the Dominican Republic.

He is doing some great things, and from what I've heard, he is happy and working hard.

I'm glad he's doing well - but I can't wait for him to come home. BYU is way more fun when he's there. :)

Happy Anniversary!
