Now I'll be Pollyanna and say, "You should be glad that you got the chance to SAY goodbye! Also, a handshake is a completely appropriate goodbye when you're saying it to a missionary! :-) (Go ahead and punch me now!)
I think the cruelest goodbye is when someone kicks you in the shins and says "Go away!"...I'd be praying for a handshake compared to that one! :) hee hee
