Is that clear enough for you?

Throughout the course of a day of work (I'm a pharmacy technician at Target Pharmacy) I sometimes need to call insurance companies to get overrides, or some other annoying interaction.

One day a few weeks ago, the insurance representative I was speaking with asked me to read them the clients ID number, which included several numbers. I included the normal C as in "cat" and A as in "Armadillo" but when I came to an R, my brain decided to say, "R as in R2-D2."

My boss laughed at me, but I think it's a perfectly acceptable thing to say.

You're right! It is perfectly acceptable and perfectly understandable. Anyone hearing that phrase would know without a doubt to which letter you were referring! (Unless they got confused and thought you meant "D." :-)

I'm pretty surprised you didn't say R as in Rhesus Monkey.

Please, Please, Please..next time you say C.. Say "as in C-3PO" you should infact relate all letters to Star Wars Characters!! Except for S.... How about it Melissa? ... A little Salman shout out would be great!!!

Great idea! I think "J as in Jar Jar" and "B as in Binks" would be especially appreciated. Although, "C as in Chewbacca" and "W as in Wookie" would be my favorite. I better stop now before I go through the whole alphabet for you! ("V as in Vader!") :-)
